Midwest Engineering and Testing, Inc. (MET), an engineering firm located in Champaign, Illinois, performs geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and environmental engineering services primarily in Central Illinois. MET was incorporated in Illinois in September of 2009 when the former branch office of Midwest Engineering Services, Inc. (MES), a Wisconsin Corporation, was acquired by Daniel Tappendorf, the former branch manager and current company president, and Julie Tappendorf, CEO. MET currently has a total staff of twenty-five personnel, which includes Mr. Robert Hahn, Principal Engineer, Mr. Jeff Olson, Construction Material Testing Department Manager, Mr. Nicholas Wendling, Geotechnical Department Manager, and Mr. Mike Heaton, Environmental Department Manager.

MET and its predecessor companies have successfully provided geotechnical engineering, material testing and environmental consultation services on numerous projects within Central Illinois over the past 35 years. In terms of local experience, MET is unmatched in providing geotechnical, materials testing and construction inspection services in the Central Illinois area. Our principal engineers, Mr. Daniel Tappendorf and Mr. Robert Hahn have been in practice locally for 26 years and 43 years, respectively. It is our opinion that this longevity speaks to the quality of service and commitment we have toward our customers.

Our engineering technicians have been trained and certified through the IDOT QC/QA program as well as American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification. Lab tests are performed in our local Champaign, Illinois laboratory, which consists of a modern 6400 sq ft. facility that was built in 2000. The laboratory and test equipment are inspected and approved annually by IDOT. MET also owns and operates its own drilling equipment and has a fleet of support vehicles.
